Marking 800 years since the passing of Francis of Assisi, Pope Leo declared a Jubilee Year of St. Francis, concluding on January 10, 2027.

While Assisi may be too far for some to travel, all the faithful are invited to make a pilgrimage to the local parish dedicated to St. Francis in Longmont.

About the Plenary Indulgence

A plenary indulgence is granted when a soul:

• Is in a state of grace
• Is detached from all sin
• Has recently received the sacrament of confession
• Has recently received Holy Communion
• Offers prayers for the Pope

The faithful are encouraged to conclude their prayer with the Our Father, the Creed, and invocations to the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint Francis of Assisi, Saint Clare, and all the Saints of the Franciscan Family.

More detailed information about plenary indulgences is available on the Year of St. Francis Jubilee website.
