"In the sight of angels I will sing your praises, Lord" (Pslam 138)
Spreading Our Wings
Now is Our Time…
Completed in 1911, Guardian Angels Church has now begun its second century of worship and
parish life. The old Carpenter Gothic-style church building with its white siding and blue roof is a beloved icon in the Town of Mead. However, the facilities are no longer adequate to serve the growing population of the parish and the surrounding area. While our current worship space has served us well, we envision the continued growth of our church community in years to come and need to construct a new church building to accommodate our growing congregation and empower us to celebrate our faith.
A new church facility would not only allow for increased space for worship, but also for the expansion of the programming Guardian Angels can offer to the community. This phase of building, as well as future building phases, will enable the church to strengthen parish-wide fellowship and engagement and accommodate for the first time:
- Marriage and family enrichment programs
- pace for all family faith catechesis to take place in one night
- Space for more than one group to meet at a time
- Larger events such as weddings, funerals and sacraments that currently do not take place in our existing church due to size constraints
Though we are in the spirit of new and exciting change for our parish, our current church will not be forgotten; but rather, it will become a prayer chapel for dedicated personal reflection and peace. Its storied history will remain a large part of the Guardian Angels family for generations to come.
