SUMMARY:Society of St. Vincent de Paul Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The St. Vincent de Paul Society conference at Guardian Angels was formed in October 2021. Since that time our group has learned much about each other and our neighbors in need. We continue to provide assistance to neighbors in Mead\, Berthoud\, Longmont\, Platteville\, and other nearby communities. We provide not only material assistance such as rent\, utilities\, telephone bills\, fuel\, and groceries but also offer friendship\, understanding\, and prayer. \n  \nMost of the financial assistance we provide comes from the generosity of Guardian Angels parishioners. We provided almost $8000 in rent assistance locally over the previous year thanks\, in large part to the generosity of Guardian Angels parishioners. With growing needs\, we have already exceeded $8000 in rent assistance in the six months of the current fiscal year. \n  \nAttend this meeting to join our Society of St. Vincent de Paul at Guardian Angels so we can do more for those in need in our community. We meet on the first and third Thursdays of each month at 7 pm in the parish conference room and on Zoom.

In the prayers of the Holy Mass\, the priest refers to the Eucharist as a “holy and living sacrifice” while he also prays that we “may truly become a living sacrifice in Christ”. This reflection from Dr. Akers will explore the sacrificial nature of the Mass and how we participate in it through our baptismal priesthood.
